Jeff Pierson currently serves as the Executive Director for the Department of School Safety for Jefferson County Public Schools. Jeff earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney as a college athlete and a Master of Educational Administration from the University of Phoenix. He has also earned his POST (Police Officers Standards and Training) Certification, single officer and RAID (Responsive and Immediate Deployment) Certification, FEMA Certification and Type D Licensure from the State of Colorado. Jeff is an experienced school safety and education leader with a passion for student success and the impact school safety has on the school environment every day. Mr. Pierson served as the Director of Safe School Environments in Jeffco Public Schools from 2018 to present and was a key element to both enhancing the partnership and operations between schools, district leadership, and the Department of School Safety. His background as an educational leader, administrator, and coach has served to be invaluable to the calibration and partnership Jeffco Public Schools has experienced over the past four years. Jeff leads Jeffco Public School’s preeminent school safety department and is committed to building on its rich history and preparing the district for ongoing safety innovation. Jeffco is committed to protecting the safety and well-being of our students and staff. Students learn best when they can attend classes in a secure and welcoming environment and staff are most effective with a strong sense and culture of safety in their buildings.
Jeff is also the recipient of numerous awards, recognitions, and most recently in 2018 was recognized by Jeffco Public Schools leadership as the High School principal of the year for his dedication, commitment to excellence, resiliency, and leadership as the principal of Standley Lake High School.
