Cassie Tanner

Cassie Tanner joined the DeAngelis Center Foundation Board of Directors in Fall 2023. She serves as deputy director of public affairs and government relations for AAA Colorado – The Auto Club Group. Cassie’s professional work centers on community engagement, media relations, and advocacy for transportation, traffic safety, mobility, and other issues that affect AAA’s 730,000 Colorado members. Cassie regularly collaborates with law enforcement, state agencies, local municipalities, and government organizations to promote safety issues and advance public safety campaigns. She is also the state contact for the AAA School Safety Patrol program which helps elementary students develop leadership skills while keeping their fellow classmates safe enroute to and from school.

Cassie has a background in nonprofit leadership and board management. She was the executive director at SpayToday Healthy Pet Center in Lakewood from 2016-2021. Cassie was elected to the West Metro Fire Rescue Board of Directors in 2014 and served for 8 years. She held the role of treasurer and board president and helped lead the WMFR through a reorganization, participated in contract negotiations with IAFF Local 1309, and oversaw a 80+ million dollar budget. Cassie is also heavily committed to her community and serves on the West Metro Chamber Strategic Planning Committee, is Vice President of the Leadership Jefferson County Foundation and is a member of the Friends of Foothills Animal Shelter board of directors.

Cassie resides in Arvada with her elementary-aged son who is a proud Jeffco Public Schools student. As a mother and community member, she strongly supports the mission of the DeAngelis Center Foundation.
