Kayla Tinsley is originally from the Chicago area and has lived in Colorado for the last 15 years. After graduating from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs with a degree in Criminal Justice, Kayla was hired by the Arvada Police Department in 2017. Since then, she has served as a patrol officer, field training officer, driving instructor, and arrest control instructor. Kayla is now a Detective in APD’s Criminal Investigations Bureau and works in the General Crimes Unit. Kayla began training in Brazilian jiu jitsu in 2019 and also loves weightlifting and mountain biking. In her spare time, Kayla likes to read, do her nails, and spend time with her husband and Great Dane.
