ESSIR Grant

The DeAngelis Foundation is thankful to be supported through the Enhanced School Safety Incident Response Grant (ESSIR), managed through the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

The Foundation has been the recipient of these grant dollars for two years which, when combined with generous private donations, has enhanced our ability to provide critical school safety training and support for first responders and school district personnel. Much of this training occurs at the Frank DeAngelis Center for Community Safety, a decommissioned Jefferson County Public Schools elementary building.

Through close partnership with the school district, leveraging ESSIR funds, this site has been converted into a one of a kind training center that, to date, has benefited 70 different agencies and 7,000 first responders.
