Steve Bell, Chief Operating Officer, joined Jeffco Schools in May, 2010. Mr. Bell is a 50 year resident of Jefferson County, attended Jeffco schools and graduated from Arvada High School. He has been active in the Jeffco community serving on civic organizations including St. Anthony Hospital Foundation, Jeffco Economic Development Corporation, the Arvada Chamber and Jefferson Education Foundation where he served as President for two terms and then as a Foundation Trustee. Prior to joining Jeffco Schools, Mr. Bell had a successful career in the investment banking industry. His job responsibilities included the oversight and management for municipal public finance on a regional and national level. Mr. Bell worked for the firms of Hanifen, Imhoff, Inc., E.F. Hutton & Co., Prudential Securities, Dain Rauscher Inc. and most recently served as the National Director of Fixed Income Capital Markets division of Stifel Nicolaus and Co., Inc. He was also a member of the Board of Directors for the Stifel Nicolaus Brokerage firm for seven years. Jeffco Schools As the Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Bell’s responsibility is the leadership and oversight for six business support units within the District:
1. Facilities ( construction, maintenance, environment and custodial)
2. Food and Nutrition Services
3. Transportation (student transportation and District service fleet)
4. Security and Emergency Management
5. Athletics and Act ivies
6. Business Service Technology
The mission of the Support Services group is to provide the highest quality environment for Jeffco students to facilitate the learning enterprise. The District has maintained a long track record of ensuring all students attend schools that are safe and secure, and equipped with current educational surroundings which enhance the student achievements.
